Creative mixed-media may be included with some options like; collage, stencils, sponge, palette knife, tape art, jewels etc. Pre-traced canvases + guided instruction. Age-appropriate themes: animals, nature, seasonal, abstract etc. Topics are often chosen a week before so we can adapt to students’ interests and suggestions, keeping projects engaging and exciting for them.
If you plan to enroll your child in one of the enrichment classes, please consider volunteering as a chaperone. Each class must have at least one chaperone in order to proceed.
What is a volunteer chaperone?
A volunteer chaperone is a parent or guardian who attends the class to help supervise students and support the instructor. No teaching experience is required - your presence helps ensure a safe, well-organized, and successful class.
Each enrichment class must have a dedicated chaperone, who is an adult family member present on-site for the entire class session. Chaperone responsibilities include:
-
Signing students in and out
-
Notifying the office or families if a student is absent
-
Helping ensure a safe and well-organized class environment
- Ensure the classroom is left clean after the class
Chaperones must be:
-
Alcott PTSA members
-
LWSD-approved volunteers
- Must be at school no later than 3:50pm to collect and check in students
You can learn more about how to become a LWSD approved volunteer by visiting the Volunteering in LWSD page on the LWSD website.
Parents may sign up as the Dedicated Chaperone for the class in which their child is enrolled by visiting the volunteer page on our website.
Benefit:
A chaperone who serves for the entire class season is eligible for a full tuition waiver for one child enrolled in that class. If two chaperones serve, each student may receive a 50% tuition waiver.
