Spelling Bee

Louisa May Alcott Elementary PTSA is planning for another successful Spelling Bee program for the 2023-2024 school year. Louisa May Alcott Elementary is proud to offer students an opportunity to exhibit their proficiency in the art of spelling and, just as importantly, vocabulary.

The Scripps National Spelling Bee developed an online testing platform for students to participate from home.  We will be using this testing platform as a qualifier.

The qualifying students from the online round will participate in an in-person round. The winner of this round will represent Alcott at the Regional Spelling Bee in Seattle. The Regional Bee winner will then advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee representing Seattle.

The Spelling Bee is open to all students, K-5 and can be a fun way to practice and improve spelling. However, please note the final round will be a school-wide competition. All grade levels are participating together.
